Being in El Dorado County for that many years has created many loyal clients who start with one job and continue to hire Jurgens again and again for all of their construction projects as well as advice.

With 30 years in business in this community, Jurgens Construction has built a good relationship with his sub-contractors, insuring quality service and fair pricing will be passed onto his clients.

The Jurgens family history in El Dorado County began in 1854 when Jasper Jurgens and his wife moved to what is now Jasper Road, along Weber Creek. He purchased a store and began to pan for gold. His first mine, “Jasper” was quite productive, with two other mines soon to follow, “Never Sweat Mine” and “Gamecock Mine”. In 1903 the US Postal Service established a post office, so began the community of “Jurgens”. Back in that day, the community was a very lively community, with Saturday night parties and dances; also in town was a school house, general store, boarding house, saloon, an assay office and several other mines. In a historic storm during 1862 the families living there discovered they had built too close to Weber Creek, homes and mines were lost. The post office was closed in 1914; however the community of Jurgens remained until a devastating wildfire of 1931. Most of the property and mines were split and sold, however the family still has one of the original parcels.

There is something special about doing business with a person who has roots and a stake in his community that nothing can replace. The honesty, integrity and work ethic that Jasper Jurgens brought to El Dorado County in 1854 remains within Jeff today.
